For nearly 20 years the Medfood family has been providing authentic, quality and traditional Mediterranean foods across the UK. Our first passion was olives. With our understanding of British tastes and using traditional methods, we have re-created the flavours from our favourite countries, bringing the oldest flavours from the Mediterranean basin to British tables.
Whole olives, pitted olives, stuffed and marinated – we just couldn’t stop.
Our panache for flavour combinations soon took us down the road of supplying the best quality dried fruits, we started roasting our own nuts, produced indulgent sweet delicacies and decadent antipasti. We are market leaders of innovative Fresh produce – made by the British for the British.
Working with our sister companies across Greece, Italy, Spain and partners across the world – our products are harvested using traditional methods by artisan producers. Combined with our British expertise in production, packaging and innovation – we believe we have the perfect combination of tradition and culture to bring the finest flavours to your table.
We started by selling olives in markets
We had a humble beginning, but from the start we had a quest for quality. We started by selling premium quality olives in food and farmer's markets. We offered the best variety olives to our customers and after some time we started making our own mixes and marinades.
Founded Medfood Wholesale
As the demand for our olives and marinades grew, we decided to open our own factory and offer our olives, wholesale, to shops and retailers. We started in one room and conducted many flavour experiments. We took traditional flavours from across the Mediterranean region and adapted them to meet modern British tastes. Our factory grew alongside our reputation and Medfood was born.
Growing our passion for olives
We used our expertise to launch our first range of marinated olives in a variety of packs. Chilli and Garlic, Lemon and Coriander and Mykonos olives were among the first to be launched and are popular to this day. We continue to develop and introduce new marinated flavours, setting the trends for marinated olives and antipasti across the industry.
We continue to bring you flavour combinations and new products
As we grew, we maintained our ethos of bringing quality Mediterranean products for our customers. We increased our range of marinades and started adding new products to our line.
The first of our Great Taste Awards
Going up against heavy competition, we won our very first Great Taste Award for our Chilli and Garlic Marinated olives. We couldn’t be more proud of this great achievement. This was the first of our accolades that continue to this day.
Using our knowledge to expand our range to include antipasti
Expanded our range to include a large range of antipasti. Including our own label Dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) sundried tomatoes, cheese stuffed peppers and many more.
Started roasting our nuts in our very own nut factory
With the launch of our new nut factory we started roasting and flavouring our own nut range. Using only the best and most superior nuts available and roasting and flavouring them to our secret recipes. Today we offer one of the largest range of quality freshly roasted nuts to the UK market.
Providing dried fruits and becoming one of the leading Mediterranean food suppliers
We expanded our range to dried fruits to meet the growing demand for dried fruits and nuts in the UK. Our range includes a selection of dried fruits, from organic mangoes and dried peaches to favourite apricots and exotic pomelo.
Offering the best in production and manufacturing
Our BRC AA+ Certification confirms our quest for excellence in production and manufacturing.
We launch new sweet treats including Turkish Delight and Chocolates
This was our year for sweets from exotic Turkish delight flavours to delicious chocolate coated fruits and nuts.
Our new retail range allows our products to be sold direct to customers
Launched our own Retail Deli Olive and Antipasti pots. Providing a fantastic solution for delis, farm shops and supermarkets looking to sell olive and antipasti snack pots. And let’s not forget, we won two Quality Food Awards this year for our marinated olives and company excellence.

Now a member of Made in Britain, we are proud of our British history and continue to strive to achieve excellence in our products and manufacturing. And we won another Great Taste Award for our marinated olives.
