The 280g packs are in oil, but don’t forget, you can use the tasty oil in salad dressings or for frying.
Enjoy the variety of antipasti
Antipasti or antipasto is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal. Usually served on a platter, antipasti is made of bite-sized morsels of delicious foods that are designed to stimulate the appetite. Typical ingredients of antipasti include cured meats, olives, pepper, artichokes, cheeses and grilled and stuffed vegetables.
But antipasti doesn’t need to be served as a first course. With so many delicious ingredients to choose from, antipasti can easily be a meal on its own. Here are some gorgeous Medfood antipasti ideas for you to enjoy as part of your light and fresh summer suppers.
Red cherry peppers stuffed with cream cheese:
These cherry peppers are a tiny bit hot and a tiny bit sweet. They are stuffed with cool and creamy cheese. A perfect flavour combination.
Artichokes:
Artichokes have a mild and nutty flavour and are considered luxurious vegetables as they are difficult to prepare. Choose from whole artichoke hearts or quarters. they are preserved in brine and are delicious just on their own.
Borattane onions in balsamic vinegar:
At first, the idea of eating a small raw onion in balsamic vinegar can be considered a tough challenge, but once you’ve had one you will never go back. These delicious Italian onions are mild, tender and sweet. They are pickled in sweet sour Balsamic vinegar and are a perfect pairing with cheese or cold meats.
Butterbeans in tomato sauce:
These delicious butterbeans are delicious hot or cold. The giant butterbeans are meaty and soft and the delicious herby tomato sauces is delicious mopped up with crusty bread. What more can you ask for?
Stuffed vine leaves or dolmades:
Moving from antipasti and onto mezze will open up your world to new and exciting flavours. Starting with dolmades. Dolmades are a traditional favourite from the middle east. Soft, young vine leaves are stuffed with rice, herbs and seasoning. A perfect bite every time.
Chargrilled vegetables:
No antipasti or mezza platter would be complete without grilled vegetables. Whether it aubergines, courgettes or mushrooms, grilled vegetables add a delicious summery BBQ flavour to your plate. Enjoy them on their own, in a salad or warmed up slightly. They are delicious and nutritious.
